Hello to all my newsletter readers it's time once again to touch base.
You'll notice this newsletter is slightly different to my previous ones but the layout is still much the same. I'm trying out a new newsletter mailer and so far they're offering all the bells and whistles I'll need moving forward with promotions.
The Devil's Revenge
A case gone cold brings Detective Bannon back to Melbourne to work with Detective Superintendent Alex Turner. The investigation hits a dead end until another woman is found strangled on St Kilda Beach after socialising with friends at a local hotel.
Sergeant Michael Ryan, who is visiting his family in the nearby suburb Moorabbin, joins the investigation, along with Detective Bannon’s old long-time partner Detective Sergeant Brad Kingsley.
Together, the team races to close in on the serial rapist, murderer. But can they catch him in time before he kills again?
Edits are flying through and its looking good for a mid-year release.

Ever wondered about Detective Bannon's tracking skills? This short story will help to solve the mystery.
Young Mark Bannon and his girlfriend Rita return to the homestead after a successful hunt to get a kangaroo for Rita's pop and nan. Rita informs him she is going quondonging with her cousin Jacky and they can practice tracking. Jacky is good at hiding his tracks and has a secret hidden in his backpack he is sure will prevent Mark from finding him.
For those of you who don't know what a quondong is, it's an Australian native fruit tree that grows throughout the outback of South Australia. The fruit when ripe is ruby red, luscious and tart.
This would be one of the first stories I wrote many years ago now. I'm surprised it survived the many house moves on paper and eventually on floppy disk then transferred to computer to again survive crashes, until I found it in a dusty archive on an external hard drive while sorting out some files.
Well here it is, tidied up, polished and fit for publication.

How was your Christmas and New Year?
Ours was hectic, it appears to be the time of year when every doctor and specialist you've even been to wants to waste your time and money. My guess they need your funds so they can sit back and enjoy their holidays in the tropics, drinking cocktails and munching on lobster tails.
All over thankfully until next December which comes around to quick, considering one month of 2026 is almost gone already.
On the bright side. I got in a bit of reading time in the waiting rooms and knocked over a few books I've been intending to read all year.
The Mara Mysteries - Books 1, 2 and 3.
The Mara Mysteries Additional - A Weekend at Joe's
The Jack Smith Series - Book 1
